A Signage Program with International Standards
Back to projects

Project

The expansion of the air terminal and the consequential new influx of travellers lead Québec City’s airport to rethink their existing signage program in order to meet their new needs. After a thorough study of the universal accessibility standards, we designed and established a new signage program as well as a new orientation strategy to usher the airport into a new international dimension.

Challenge

Consistency and coherence

Divided into various phases, this project took place during construction works and involved temporary and permanents elements. The continuity and consistency of information was established between the pre-existent signage program and the newly introduce one to guarantee the efficient travel of passengers and travel companions.

Solution

Visibility, legibility, and universality

Making information and signs stand out from their environment is crucial. The choice of materials, typography, pictograms, arrows and their dimensions maximize the levels of visibility and legibility experienced by the widest possible audience.
